APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE AT COMPETITION COMMISSION OF SINGAPORE
(CCS)
Mr Ong Beng Lee will be appointed as Chief Executive, Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) with effect from 24 April 2006.
Mr Ong is currently Director (Housing) in the Ministry of National Development (MND). He graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.He also attended the Programme for Management Development at Harvard Business School. Since being appointed to the Singapore Administrative Service in 1990, Mr Ong has served in various Ministries, including the Ministries of Community Development, Trade and Industry, Home Affairs and Defense. He will relinquish his post in MND from 24 April 2006.
Mr Ong will take over from Mr Ng Wai Choong, who has been the Chief Executive of CCS since its formation in January 2005. Mr Ng will continue in his post as Deputy Secretary (Industry) at the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
