About Singapore-Indonesia Tech:X Programme (Tech:X)

Recognising an opportunity to deepen linkages between Singapore and Indonesia’s tech ecosystems, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Tech:X Programme was signed by then-Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong and Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on 16 March 2023 at the 2023 Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat.

The Tech:X Programme aims to encourage and facilitate young working professionals from Singapore and Indonesia in tech-related fields to pursue overseas work stints in each other’s country. Tech:X will also enable business in both countries to access a wider pool of young tech professionals and facilitate the rotation or transfer of high-potential employees between their Singapore and Indonesia offices.

The launch of the pilot for the Tech:X Programme was jointly announced on 29 April 2024 between then-Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the 2024 Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat.
