S ISWARAN TO ATTEND WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM ANNUAL MEETING 2014
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry, Mr S Iswaran, will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland from 23 to 25 January 2014.
2 The WEF Annual Meeting[1] provides a platform for leaders in government, industry and academia to engage in thoughtful discussions and collaborative activities that seek to address evolving global challenges. It also offers opportunities to shape global, regional, industry and business agendas for the year ahead.
3 In Davos, Mr Iswaran is scheduled to speak at several platforms including sessions on growth and investment in India (“Governor Series: India- Renewing Partnerships, Delivering Growth” on 23 Jan), the geopolitical impact of the shale gas revolution (“WEF Dinner Session: Unconventional Oil and Gas: Reshaping the Geopolitical Map” on 23 Jan) and cyber resilience (“CEO Series: Cracking the Code on Cyber Resilience” on 24 Jan).
4 Mr Iswaran will also take part in a session involving government and business leaders from ASEAN, to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the ASEAN Economic Community 2015. In addition, Mr Iswaran will have bilateral meetings with government ministers and top business executives on the sidelines of the Meeting.
5 Mr Iswaran will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
