Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan leads delegation to explore business opportunities in Jiangsu Province 16 – 18 April 2007
Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan will lead a business delegation, comprising key industry players from the water and environmental engineering, food manufacturing, and logistics sectors to explore investment opportunities in the cities of Nanjing, Changzhou and Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province from 16-18 April 2007.
Ranked first in FDI and third in GDP in China, Jiangsu is an economic powerhouse with huge growth potential and attractive opportunities for Singapore businesses. In 2006, Singapore-Jiangsu bilateral trade grew by 42% to reach US$ 8.25 billion. As at end 2006, Singapore companies had invested in 2295 projects in Jiangsu, with total cumulative actual investments of US$ 9.96 billion.
During the visit, MOS Lee will meet with Jiangsu and Nanjing leaders to further promote collaboration between Singapore and Jiangsu Province. In addition, MOS Lee will grace project signing and ground breaking ceremonies for new Singapore investments into Jiangsu Province. MOS Lee will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Enterprise Singapore and the Public Utilities Board.
