Singapore and the People’s Republic of China hold the Singapore-China Business Informatization Exchange and Cooperation High Ranking Forum
The Singapore-China Business Informatization Exchange and Cooperation High Ranking Forum held today aims to facilitate a better understanding of e-government and e-commerce development in both countries. The forum was co-organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore and the Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China, in conjunction with PRC Vice-Minister for Commerce Liao Xiaoqi’s visit to Singapore from 18-21 April 2006.
Gathering at this forum were notable companies from Singapore and China’s infocomm industry such as NCS, Crimson Logic and Huawei. Government officials from Singapore’s Infocomm Development Authority, China’s State Informatization Office and PRC Ministry of Commerce China International E-commerce Centre, as well as academics from China Information Association, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Shanghai Maritime University also shared Singapore and China’s infocomm strategies and how their application further promotes government to business linkages.
Two new books, namely “Handbook on Doing Business in Singapore” and “A Practical Guide to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)”, were also launched at the forum by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the PRC Embassy in Singapore. IE Singapore has issued a separate media statement on this.
