VISIT OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION MINISTER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TRADE H.E. GERMAN GREF, 19-20 MARCH 2006

The Russian Federation Minister for Economic Development and Trade, H.E. German Gref will be visiting Singapore from 19-20 March 2006 at the invitation of Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang to attend the Russia-Singapore Business Forum held on 20 March 2006. H.E. Gref will be accompanied by his officials and a business delegation.

The Russia-Singapore Business Forum, co-organized by Troika Dialog Bank, the Singapore Embassy in Moscow, and International Enterprise Singapore will be a milestone event for both Singapore and Russia. The forum, themed "Demystifying Russia", will aim to raise the awareness of investment opportunities in Russia for Singapore companies. It will also allow Russian companies to profile themselves in Singapore and the wider Asian market. H.E. Gref will be delivering a keynote address on the new Russia initiative to establish SEZs.

During his visit to Singapore, H.E. Gref will also call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Minister for Health Khaw Boon Wan. He will attend briefings from JTC, MOE and MOH and visit Jurong Island and the SMU. Minister Lim will also be hosting lunch for H.E. Gref.
