MINISTER FOR TRADE AND INDUSTRY LIM HNG KIANG TO ATTEND THE INDONESIA-SINGAPORE BUSINESS SEMINAR IN JAKARTA, INDONESIA , 15-16 MARCH 2006

Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang will be in Jakarta from 15-16 March 2006, to speak at the Indonesia-Singapore Business Seminar on “Strategic Impact of Foreign Investment in Indonesia.”

The Indonesia-Singapore Business Seminar is an exclusive forum for business leaders to network and share ideas with policy makers to enhance understanding of the business environment in Indonesia. The Guest-of-Honour is Mr Jusuf Kalla, Vice-President of the Republic of Indonesia, and the seminar will be attended by about 80 business leaders from both Singapore and Indonesia.

Minister Lim will also be meeting Indonesian Ministers including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Boediono; Minister for TradeDr. Mari E. Pangestu; and Minister for Industry Mr Fahmi Idris, to discuss issues pertaining to closer economic cooperation.

Minister Lim will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and the Economic Development Board (EDB).
