Summary
- MAS Core Inflation rose to 2.9% on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis in March 2022, from 2.2% in February.
- This was driven by higher inflation for food and services.
- CPI-All Items inflation rose to 5.4% y-o-y in March, from 4.3% in the preceding month.
- In addition to the pickup in core inflation, private transport and accommodation inflation also came in higher.
- On a month-on-month (m-o-m) basis, core CPI and CPI-All Items increased by 0.7% and 1.2% respectively in March.
