The World Economic Forum has informed the Singapore Government that due to the continuing global uncertainties caused by COVID-19, it will be cancelling its Special Annual Meeting for 2021, which was scheduled to take place in Singapore from 17 to 20 August. In its media statement issued today, the Forum highlighted the difficulty of organising a meeting of this scale, involving business, government and civil society leaders from different corners of the world, in light of evolving international travel rules aimed at containing new variants of the COVID-19 virus.
