Consumer Price Developments in April 2017

 CPI-All Items inflation was lower in April, coming in at 0.4% compared to 0.7% in March, on account of base effects associated with the timing of the disbursement of Service & Conservancy Charges (S&CC) rebates.1 In comparison, MAS Core Inflation rose to 1.7% in April from 1.2% in the previous month, due to the stronger pickup in the cost of electricity and gas .
