MTI’s Statement on the TPP Ministerial Meeting in Maui, Hawaii from 28 to 31 July 2015
The TPP is crucial for the prosperity and stability of the Asia Pacific. While countries were unable to conclude the agreement in Maui, owing to prevailing differences over market access and rules, each of us has put in tremendous effort, and has worked tirelessly to advance the negotiations. In that spirit, we have closed more chapters, and reached agreement on many issues that were previously intractable.
We are therefore optimistic that we are only a few steps away from the successful conclusion of the TPP negotiations. Singapore remains fully committed to efforts to conclude talks with our TPP partners, and stands ready to return to the negotiating table in the immediate future.
