Economic Outlook for ASEAN
ASEAN economic growth performance in the past two years has been quite resilient due to strong domestic demand and investment. In the medium term, ASEAN’s economic outlook remains robust, anchored by rising domestic demand particularly private consumption and infrastructure investment. With world trade expected to gain momentum in 2014-2015, ASEAN exports are also expected to contribute more to the region’s growth performance. Prospects for FDI flows to ASEAN remain promising as more FDI is expected in a wide range of sectors such as infrastructure, finance and manufacturing.
