NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO THE A*STAR AND HLB BOARDS
The Minister for Trade and Industry has appointed one new Board member each to the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR) and the Hotels Licensing Board (HLB).These appointments take effect from 1 June 2008.
A*STAR
The newly-appointed member is :
Professor Tan Eng Chye –Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost, NationalUniversity of Singapore
In addition, Mr Quek Tong Boon, Chief Defence Scientist / Deputy Secretary (Technology & Transformation) / Chief Research and Technology Officer, Ministry of Defence, has been re-appointed to the A*STAR Board with effect from 1 August 2008.
A*STAR’s Board comprises 21 members and the list of these Members is at Annex A.
HLB
The newly-appointed member is :
Mr Paul Lim Choon Wui–Commander, ‘E’ Division, Singapore Police Force
One member, Mr Raymond Khoo Peng Ann, Commander, Central Police Division, Singapore Police Force, will step down from the HLB with effect from 1 June 2008.
HLB’s Board comprises five members and the list is at Annex B.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry, A*STAR and HLB welcome the new Board members and also express their appreciation to the outgoing member for his invaluable contributions.
