Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi
Shyan will attend the 13th APEC Small and Medium
Enterprise (SME) Ministerial Meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam,
from 28 to 29 September
2006.
The APEC SME Ministerial Meeting gathers Ministers
responsible for SMEs from the 21 APEC economies. The Ministers will
be discussing best policies and entrepreneurial practices to
strengthen SMEs’ competitiveness for trade and investment through
creating a business enabling environment for SMEs, building SME
capacity for trade and investment and facilitating linkages for
SMEs.The Ministers will also be meeting representatives from OECD,
ASEAN Secretariat, Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, Pacific
Island Forum, APEC Business Advisory Council, Women Leader’s
Network and APEC Business
Forum.
Mr Lee will be accompanied by officials from
SPRING Singapore
and IE
Singapore.
