Mr Leong Mun Wai: To ask the Minister for Trade and Industry (a) whether the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) will be evaluating Grab's proposed acquisition of Trans-Cab for anti-competitive practices; (b) what safeguards will CCCS take to ensure that Grab does not disadvantage taxi drivers from other companies on its platform following the acquisition; and (c) whether the CCCS will provide an assessment of the impact of the recent consolidation in the taxi industry on consumers.

1. The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has received Grab’s notification of the proposed acquisition. CCCS will assess the impact of the proposed acquisition on competition, and consult relevant stakeholders, before reaching a decision on the matter.
